8 Before the spies lay down for the night, she went up on the roof 9 and said to them, “I know that the Lord has given you this land and that a great fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you. 10 We have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan, whom you completely destroyed. 11 When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below. We are beginning where Rahab is talking to the two spies from the Israelite's camp.  She has hidden them and sent the soldiers (who were searching for them) to look for them elsewhere.

I love it because Rahab had heard the stories of how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea when they left Egypt.  She had heard how they completely destroyed the two kings of the Amorites and when they heard about it, their hearts melted in fear!  But the most important part was that she realized they did the impossible because of whom they served, the Lord God!

We need to live our lives in such a way that when people see us do the impossible that they will know our God! Rahab defected from the people of Jericho to serve the God of the Israelites.  She heard the stories of what God had done through them!

As For Me, I Will Always Have hope!

As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more.My mouth will tell of your righteous deeds, of your saving acts all day long—though I know not how to relate them all. I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, Sovereign LORD; I will proclaim your righteous deeds, yours alone. Since my youth, God, you have taught me,and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come. Psalm 71:14-18 NIV This section of scripture spoke out to me this morning. As for me I will always have hope! I will praise you more and more! My mouth will tell of your righteous deeds even if I might not know how to relate them all....even if I might not understand them at the moment, I will still praise You O God. I have had the Lord do marvelous deeds for me throughout my life. We as humans, tend to forget the great stuff when we get tired and worn.
