Life Changer

Mark 5:1-20. 1 They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes. 2 When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure spirit came from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. 4 For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones. 6 When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. 7 He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” 8 For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!” 9 Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” “My name is Legion,” he replied, “for we are many.” 10 And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.11 A large herd of pigs was feeding on the

40 Now when Jesus returned, a crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him. 41 Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader, came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come to his house 42 because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying. As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. 43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. 45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.” 46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.” 47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. 48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith ha

God is Working on Every Level!

15  Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard, and the raging sea grew calm.   16  At this the men greatly feared   the   Lord , and they offered a sacrifice to the   Lord   and made vows   to him. Jonah 1:15-16 NIV Jonah was running away from his assignment of the Lord when he was on board the boat that was being swallowed by the storm. He told the boat's crew to throw him overboard and everything would be alright. They prayed and then threw him overboard and the sea grew calm. I love how big God is! Jonah is running out of rebellion and yet God uses Jonah's stubbornness to bring something good out of it. The whole crew repents and made vows to serve God! God isn't finished there; God sends a great fish to swallow Jonah (where he stays in the fish's belly for three days,) until he repents and goes on to complete the assignment that God had given to him. There is a lot more to the story of Jonah and I challenge you to read the whole story. The story is short

Evil or Good?

11 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. 3 John 1:11 NIV   Have you ever become so consumed by someone getting away with evil that you actually become what you hate? I have. I once had a co-worker that was being very two-faced with management. She would be evil towards me, treating me terrible and then when management would come around she would be so sickening nice and lie right to their face and they would believe him! It upset me so much. I had been so faithful, hard working and honest yet someone they barely knew came in and lied and they just did not see the truth. It really hurt me that they chose to believe her over me! I threw myself a little pity party...okay the party got bigger and bigger as time went by so I decided it was my place to bring justice. But I was wrong. It was not my place and soon enough I became bitter, hateful and cynical. I started being two-

Investing

Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her. Proverbs 8:10-11 NIV Following God is far more valuable than when the world has to offer. When we seek out and gain wisdom and knowledge, it will impact every area of our lives. The return investment of maintaining wisdom is o much greater because it will not just impact one aspect but it will apply to every aspect. What can I gain from God is an eternal investment that keeps giving. I choose to seek out God's Word so that I can invest in the best investment for my life. When I follow God and His ways I am investing in the best diversified accounts ever! The benefits are endless and everlasting. I have to put something in (My time in the Word and prayer) in order to get somethng out. I am choosing to invest myself and my life in God and His Kingdom. It may cost me and may even look like a foolish endeavor, by the worl

Trust in the Lord and Limit the Drama

S 32 When Elisha came into the house, there was the child, lying dead on his bed. 33 He went in therefore, shut the door behind the two of them, and prayed to the Lord . 34 And he went up and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth, his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands; and he stretched himself out on the child, and the flesh of the child became warm. 35 He returned and walked back and forth in the house, and again went up and stretched himself out on him; then the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes. 36 And he called Gehazi and said, “Call this Shunammite woman.” So he called her. And when she came in to him, he said, “Pick up your son.” 37 So she went in, fell at his feet, and bowed to the ground; then she picked up her son and went out. 2 Kings 4:32-37 O I noticed that Elisha went into the house and lying there was indeed, a dead child. He then shut the door, leaving everyone else outside, leaving just the boy, himself and God in th
